B3 Command Palette Article

Settings & Search Sources

Configure the trigger, toolbar launcher, appearance, result limit, recent weighting, and on-demand record sources.

The settings screen controls how the palette opens and looks, plus which large WordPress record sets are searched on demand. Core admin navigation remains available without special setup.

Settings

Trigger and toolbar

Choose the keyboard binding and how the palette appears in the admin bar.

Open the Command Palette admin screen to change the trigger. The current plugin supports Ctrl/Command + K, Ctrl/Command + K followed by /, and Ctrl/Command + Shift + P.

Admin-bar launcher
Show or hide the Command Palette button in the WordPress admin toolbar.
Replace WordPress search
When enabled, use the palette launcher as the single toolbar search entry point where the built-in WordPress search node is present.

Appearance and results

Adjust presentation and result density without changing command permissions.

Color mode and style
Use automatic, light, or dark color mode with the Classic, Spotlight, Terminal, or Glass palette style.
Accent and motion
Choose an accent color and a subtle, expressive, or reduced motion preset. The UI also respects the browser reduced-motion preference.
Result limit
Set the displayed result limit from 10 to 100. The default is 50.
Recent weighting
Enable or disable local recent and frequently used command weighting.

Search sources and portability

Control large-record searches and move sanitized settings between sites.

Content, user, and media search each have their own toggle. These settings affect on-demand record search; they do not remove the core admin navigation destinations from the palette.

The settings screen can export the current configuration as JSON and import settings on another site. Imported values pass through the same server-side validation and sanitization as a normal settings save.
